What is a reverse mortgage?

Reverse mortgages are one of the most powerful tools in the finance industry.

But unfortunately, they are also one of the most misunderstood.

They are ideal for retirees who own their home and wish to remain in it but are finding the rising cost of living makes it extremely challenging to remain on that course.

Sadly, many of these people are forced to sell their homes and downsize just to survive.
But those days are over!

Homeowners who have reached 62 years of age and are approved applicants may age in place with their financial stresses gone.
They can enjoy their sunset years in style, booking relaxing vacations, dining in five-star restaurants and living the high life they had always craved.
Retirees can access funds in a number of different ways including a lump sum payment, monthly instalments, a line of credit or a combination of all three.

As long as the terms of the loan are met, there is no need to repay it until either the homeowner sells the residence or the last surviving borrower passes away.

While it is true that Carlsbad homes have sustained a correction over the past 12 months, their average price of $1,593,241 remains well above the national average*.

It also represents a handsome 48.8% rise since August, 2020 (https://www.zillow.com/home-values/3975/carlsbad-ca/).

There are 2,500 people within a 10-mile radius of Carlsbad who are already taking advantage of a reverse mortgage with 140 of them having signed up in the last 12 months*.

About Carlsbad, California

Carlsbad takes its name from the Bohemian town of Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad) in the Czech Republic which translates as “Charles’ Bath” after the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV.

The inspiration for that name came after fresh underground water was discovered in the 1880s and found to be chemically similar to some of the world’s most renowned spas.

Its discoverer, Captain John Frazier, called it ‘The Healing Well’ and early marketers promoted the water with the slogan, “Alright, drink and be happy”.

Today, Carlsbad is a highly sought beach city address in the North County region of San Diego County, around 35 miles north of downtown San Diego and 87 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

Incorporated in 1952 to avoid annexation by nearby Oceanside, Carlsbad has grown from a population of little more than 9,000 in 1960 to an estimated 114,000 by 2023.

It is home to the McClellan-Palomar Airport which opened in 1959.

In March, 1999, Carlsbad welcomed Legoland California, the first theme park of its kind outside Europe.

It also houses the largest seawater desalination plant in the western hemisphere which was completed in 2015.

The city boasts three coastal lagoons, the only one to do so in San Diego County.
It is widely recognised as a global hub for golf equipment manufacturing and design.

Carlsbad is also home to one of the world’s first skateboard parks.
